Maintenance - Concrete Hardwood & Stained Concrete

Concrete Hardwood | Stained Concrete

This document is a quick view of the process Stain & Stamp follows on a stained a scored new construction home. If the project is Concrete Hardwood, we will also follow this process and at the bottom there will be an additional schedulable process.

PHASE 1 | SCORING WITHOUT BORDERS

  • This is scheduled for the first day after a slab is poured. We will need pattern selected by this point.

  • If certain rooms are not being scored, the FRAMER must pop out the lines to those rooms according to the plan. Stain & Stamp is not responsible for inaccurate room layout.

  • TIME = 1 day.

PHASE 2 | STAIN/SEAL/COVER

  • This is scheduled after a floor is dried in, after utility rough ins but BEFORE insulation and drywall.

  • If it is a Concrete Hardwood project, the small joint lines will be scored during this phase as well.

  • Project should have water and power or communicated to us otherwise.

  • Floor should be free of trash and debris.

  • Color selection needs to have been made prior to our arrival. In addition on site sample needs to be approved and signed off on.

  • TIME = 3-4 days without interruption.

PHASE 3 | CLEAN/SEAL

  • This is scheduled directly after the cleaning crew. We like to be the last contractor in if possible.

  • If it is Concrete Hardwood, this is when we will apply the streaking or grain look to the floor.

  • TIME = 1 Day for regular stained concrete. 2 Days to finish Concrete Hardwood.

PHASE 4 | WAX

  • On Concrete Hardwood projects, the homeowner/builder need to walk the project once the graining look has been completed. If any touch-ups or color attention is needed it should be marked with BLUE PAINTERS TAPE ONLY. This should be marked no more than 24 hours before we are scheduled to come back to do the service call and wax.

  • ONCE WAX IS APPLIED, COLOR ADDITION OR TOUCH UP BECOMES VERY DIFFICULT AND COSTLY.

  • TIME = ½ to 1 day
